CMMC Framework

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (or CMMC for short) is a compliance standard that contractors to the United States Department of Defence (DoD) need to abide by in order to be eligible to win contracts.

The CMMC builds upon the basic safeguarding requirements of NIST SP 800-171 DoD Assessment Methodology, FAR clause 52.204-21 & DFARS clause 252.204-7012.

One of the major difficulties associated with attaining CMMC compliance is regarding the control of CUI, also known as Controlled Unclassified Information. It is only through self assessment that an organisation can understand what constitutes CUI and what steps must be taken to secure this data.
